Cinnamon and Cholesterol
Recent studies reveal that cinnamon and cholesterol don't mix which may be good news for fighting cardio vascular disease naturally. Cinnamon has been used for its medicinal properties for hundreds of years and is reputed to lower blood sugar levels as well as lower cholesterol.
The role of cinnamon and cholesterol lowering was studied recently where subjects took up to 1 and ¾ teaspoons a day. After 40 days of supplementation, it was discovered that good cholesterol levels barely dropped, but bad cholesterol went down by 20 to 30%.
Cinnamon is a great herbal medicine as it tastes wonderful and can be incorporated into many foods and tastes great in teas too! It can be used as a spice to spice up desserts like apple pie and pumpkin pie. Or even used in meals such as added to squash as a topping. In addition to the positive effects of cinnamon and cholesterol, this spice is also reputed to be an antibacterial and antispasmodic that can help support your kidneys and bladder as well as aid in digestion and help relieve symptoms of menopause.
Cinnamon has no known side effects and is readily available but please consult your physician before changing your eating habits or taking any new herbs.
