Fight Immune System Diseases With Nutrition

Eating right can bolster your immune system and may help your body fight immune system diseases. Every day, your body is bombarded with toxins and germs that it must fight off. Eating a diet that includes lots of fruits and vegetables, whole grains and legumes and avoiding processed foods, sugar, white flour, alcohol and smoking can help give your body more energy for this purpose.

Your body needs wholesome nutritious foods to be in tip top shape. Some believe that a diet of mainly raw fruits and vegetables can help ward off immune system diseases as the nutrients and powerful enzymes will be easy to digest thus leaving your bodies precious energy to concentrate on fighting toxins. Making sure you get plenty of antioxidant vitamins is a plus as these help to fight off free radicals which can wreak havoc on your health and are associate with many disease including cancer.

Immune system diseases can weaken the body and leave it open to illness. Some diseases like AIDS, rheumatoid arthritis and multiple sclerosis attack the immune system itself (autoimmune disease) causing it to grow weaker and weaker until eventually it can't fight off even the most minor infections. Of course, these are serious diseases that require a doctors care but everyone - sick or healthy- can benefit from proper nutrition and supplements.

To help your body stay healthy and give yourself the best protection against immune system diseases, try to eat a diet rich in fruits, vegetables, nuts, seeds, legumes and whole grains. Take a vitamin supplement that contains the antioxidant vitamins C, E and Beta Carotene as well as Vitmain D and Selenium. Avoid processed foods (anything that comes in a box or package!) and foods that contain a lot of sugar and/or white flour. Don't smoke! Consider herbs that are known to bolster the immune system such as Echinacea, Garlic and Gotu Kola.
