Natural Skin Care Recipes
Why put harsh chemicals on your skin when you can use natural skin care recipes? Commercial lotions and creams can be made with chemicals and other ingredients that may do your skin more harm then good so if you want to heave beautiful healthy looking skin try some of these natural treatments.
Of course, one important skin care recipe is what you put in your body not on it. To have radiant skin eat lots of fresh organic fruits and vegetables (10 servings a day) and drink lots of water. Take a good multivitamin and avoid alcohol, unprotected exposure to the sun and smoking
There are many herbs and natural ingredients that are great for your skin and you can easily make up your own recipes using these ingredients. Apple Cider Vinegar works wonders on your body inside and out so you could combine this with any herb for a great skin treatment. Olive oil and cocoa butter are fabulous for helping your skin retain moisture and feel soft. Witch hazel and marigold are great toners. Other herbs and foods that work on the skin are lavender, thyme, peppermint, chamomile, evening primrose oil, cucumber, pineapple, carrots, avocado and bananas.
Here's a few natural skin care recipes to get you started:
Honey Mask
Slather raw honey on your face (mix in any of the herbs mentioned above). Let sit for 15 minutes and rinse off. Honey is also an excellent hair mask so while you are doing your face don't be afraid to rub some in your hair
Carrot and Honey Mask
Cook 2 carrots and mash them well. Combine with 4 tablespoons honey and spread on your face. Leave on for 15 minutes then rinse off.
Oatmeal Mask
Mix equal parts honey and oatmeal, spread on face. Wait 10 minutes and rinse with cold water.
